Bike Ride

Tom O’Boyle N9GUN reminded our first SARC group bike ride for the year on Saturday, May 17th at 10:00AM:  The ride will start-out and end at Schaumburg’s CRC.  We will ride to the nearby Poplar Creek Trail and do a lap or two (depending on the group’s desire).  This is a group ride and not a race, so anyone who wants to come out and participate can ride with us.  We will adjust speed and distance accordingly.

Danny KD9HIL provided FD update via SARC-ALL and discussion tonight.

Hi all, we need your help with:

·         Someone who would like to work shortwave VHF UHF

·         Need vehicle to transport furniture to-and-from the Tennis Club: Don’s Salvation Army truck on-ice

·         How would you like to climb the water tower? We really need another tower climber for setup and Sunday tear down.  Added Theo KE9DHT   to climbing team tonight

·         Please come Friday evening to help set up. Pizza will be your reward ($5 contribution)

·         Sunday Breakfast:  Birds start singing ~4:30AM and we’ll start preparing Hotel bacon/Saaausage, Frank Giampa N9QPD Memorial buttermilk   pancakes (yes Frank’s famous recipe) , eggs (we can make them your way and even have red/green bell peppers, onions if you want   omelets), hash-browns, real maple syrup, real orange juice, and strong coffee will be on the menu

·         READY by ~5:30AM.  If arriving ~8:00AM it’s probably too late so BYO breakfast if you can’t get up

·         Will need help cooking and we’ll have enough grill BTUs available for quick heat.

·        Cliff K9QD will send SARC-ALL about 11-days prior to FD to ascertain HEAD COUNT for Saturday (Eliot’s N9EPA Saturday Caterer needs 1-week notice) and for Sunday Breakfast.

·        Public information table: greet visitors and take attendance

·         Saturday Dinner: Italian Beef feast is being managed by Eliot Libner N9EPA

·         FD Educational Activity needed with several ideas offered by membership tonight
