Public Service – Rob Glowacki N9MVO

Rob reminded members of the planning taking place for the July 4th parade at Hoffman Estates as well as the July 6th event at Busse Woods . Rob indicated he will be sending out an email within the next few days solidifying volunteers for the July 4th parade. He clarified that even if members had contacted him previously to volunteer. they should do so again so he has an accurate list.

Repeaters – Rob Glowacki N9MVO

Paul Burkett KD9FMN Reported that the Village of Schaumburg permit for the 2M repeater antenna replacement has been approved. He has contacted the installer and asked them to supply the necessary paperwork to the Village. Paul will order the antenna and have it delivered to his home. On the day it is planned to be installed at the water tower, he will transport the antenna to the site. Many thanks to Paul for the significant time he put into getting the permit processed.
Education: – Leo Ribordy N9NBH
Leo has documented an initial proposal for the special Technician training requested by the Village of Schaumburg Emergency Coordinator. He will also check if the Hoffman Estates library facilities are available for this training. Howard KD9WSV will check with the Village to see if the proposed schedule meets their needs. He will also check to see if facilities within the Village of Schaumburg would be available, as they would probably prefer.

EmComm – Howard Mitchell KD9WSV

Howard indicated that 12 applications for the emergency communications team have been processed and welcomes additional members to join. He also updated the membership that the memorandum of understanding ( MOU) between the Schaumburg Amateur Radio Club and the Village of Schaumburg has been approved by the Village.
