Discussion regarding storage of items currently in the pump house. In addition It was recommended that a committee be formed called Field Day Site Committee. They will evaluate all alternatives regarding the issues surrounding Field Day 2026 and beyond. Danny Kafka KD9HIL, Kirk Mussleman K9MSG, and Eliot Libner N9EPA volunteered . Danny will take the lead.

While material is sent Eliot, it often is just a cut and paste. It would be desirable to get back to some of the standards used in the past for more creative articles.

Don Dewar KD9NJR reported attendance continues to be very good. As always, we would like to have more Net Control volunteers for all our nets.

Bill sent welcoming emails to those who passed license testing in June. In an effort to avoid confusion and delays, Bill will construct a flowchart of process to add new members to our systems.

· Photos taken during Small Drive repeater antenna replacement will be posted soon.
· Announcement about National Night Out (August 5th) at Schaumburg Park District / Meineke Recreation Center posted to Facebook page and emailed via sarc-all.
· We are still waiting for confirmation about a free booth for SARC at Septemberfest. We probably won’t know until just before the event. Howard Mitchell (KD9WSV) is organizing range testing at the site.
· SARC will be participating in the Village of Schaumburg (VoS) Public Safety Day on Saturday October 11th, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Firehouse 51, 950 W. Schaumburg Rd. Set up starts at 10:00 AM. Looking for suggestions about what we’ll have there and volunteers.

Schaumburg National Night out table was very successful with many visitors including Schaumburg government officials

There is a significant increase in requested engagement at Schaumburg Septemberfest. Howard Mitchell KD9WSV is working the overall plan which has SARC volunteers participating in the parade and festival over a 3 day period

The request by the Village of Schaumburg for FCC license training for interested community members has had dates set and initial list of volunteer presenters is now being prepared. A proposed text to be send out by Tracy Raimondo has been delivered.

- REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST: requesting SARCs help reimbursing the attached receipt for $45.24.
- RECENT EVENT: Successful SARC/Scouts on the Air event in Wood Dale with Troop 65 on 7/14/25 in the Wood Dale Grove Forest Preserve.
- Scout Leader contacted Australia!
- Scouts as well as troop leaders went on-the-air on DMR, UHF (K9IIK), and 20 meters with QSOs
- Dozens of SARC members (and others) participated on-frequency operators on both UHF and HF
- On-site volunteers included Kirk (K9MSG), Howard (KD9WSV), Dennis (KD9HIK), Tom (N9GUN), Rob (N9HAX), and Leo (N9NBH) – many thanks to each of them!
- Members of York Radio Club were hiking nearby and stopped over to see the activity.
- Had some concerns with pre-event UHF fusion activity that, ultimately, did not conflict with the event.
- PILOTING ENHANCEMENTS: The group met to contemplating enhancements for future such events to perhaps include 1) fun ways to interact with operators on UHF/VHF, 2) additional prep with Scout leaders/Scouts, and 3) use of direction finding (foxhunting) elements.
- UPCOMING EVENTS
- 8/14/25 – SARC/Scouts on the Air event with Troop 499 in Schaumburg from 7pm – 8:30pm with Scouts expected to be on-the-air from 7:20 to 8:20pm.
- On-site volunteers include Kirk (K9MSG), Howard (KD9WSV), Dennis (KD9HIK), Tom (N9GUN) and Leo (N9NBH).
- Will again set-up on DMR, 20-meters, and UHF (K9IIK).
- For the latter, we will try to find a way to disengage fusion.
- Will ‘pilot’ a mini fox hunt exercise at the conclusion of the event to gauge how best to incorporate the activity in future events.
- 9/20/25 – Pathways to Adventure Council Annual Camporee (Sept 19-21) in Sandwich

Dennis Calvey KD9HIK was authorized to ask for access to the Plum Grove site to get pictures in support of a request by the VoS Department of Public Works to have a presentation to selected individuals on what SARC equipment is at the water towers and how it is used.
